This Flame Failure Device is a genuine spare part for Electrolux and Zanussi cookers, and has a solenoid unit attached to it.

The flame failure device (FFD) is designed to shut off the gas supply if the flame in your appliance is extinguished for any reason, and the solenoid unit allows the gas to enter the appliance in the first place.
